 FIRST TIME USERMinimize

Welcome to Real Colorado!  As a first time visitor to our site, we are excited to share our history, current programs and vision for the club with you.  Real Colorado has attracted a professional staff of coaches and support staff that are passionate about the game of soccer and working with children. So take a moment to explore our links and learn what an amazing soccer journey can be yours at Real Colorado.

History
Real Colorado was founded as the Douglas County Soccer Association in 1986 as a grassroots effort to provide a positive soccer experience to local youth in Douglas County.  In our short tenure, we have recognized unprecedented growth in our membership and scope of programs.  We now serve 4,600 players representing 3,700 families, which comprise over 450 teams.  Our membership is rich in diversity, drawing from a wide geographic region and enhanced by the multi-cultural backgrounds of our players.  Our staff recognizes the value of each member and embraces our responsibility to develop disciplined, well-rounded and successful student-athletes for the future.  Real Colorado actively participates with governing bodies at the local and national level to ensure that we are actively engaged in decisions that impact our youth.  Soccer organizations in Colorado are many; but Real Colorado has separated itself at the national level by the caliber of student-athletes who represent our club. Our on-field success generates invitations to compete at the most elite College Showcase tournaments, with our teams comprised of players with ODP and US National Team credentials.  Recognition by Soccer America as a Top 20 Club in the US for 2007 and 2008 is a testimony to our strength as a staff and organization. Our staff prides itself on meeting your personal goals for your soccer experience; from those seeking an opportunity for recreational team play to those who strive to play at the collegiate level. We encourage you to click on the link, “The Real Faces of Real Colorado” to gain insight into the lives we have had the pleasure of shaping through soccer.

Real Colorado is a 501 © (3) not-for-profit organization that functions under the auspices of the Colorado Youth Soccer and is governed by a volunteer Board of Director’s who are elected by the membership.

Current Programs
Real Colorado offers programs for players of all ages and abilities, from 3 ½ years young to seasoned soccer junkies in the over-35 league.  We currently have 350 recreational teams and 119 competitive teams for youth players.  In addition,  Real provides an opportunity for adult competition through the Real Cougars, Real Colorado Foxes and the over-35 league. Regardless of the specific program or age of the participant our commitment is the same; to instill a life long love for the sport while developing character, integrity and self-esteem.  To learn more about specific program for each age group, click on the “recreational,” “competitive,” or “adult” league links on the left.

Vision
As we celebrate our accomplishments at Real Colorado, we do not lose sight of the challenges before us.  Together with the Board of Director’s, the staff at Real establishes an agenda to prioritize immediate needs and long term plans.  A campaign is in place to allow us to secure our own soccer fields.  As members of the Red Bull league and the US Soccer Developmental Academy, we are working closely with their organizational staffs to shape the structure of the programs and meet the needs of our participants. We continue to attract and hire a professional staff that shares our philosophy and is committed to keeping Real Colorado at the cutting edge of soccer in Colorado.

We hope that this information has given you a glimpse of who we are at Real Colorado and that you will join us for a wonderful experience.

Sept. 19, 2011 - The REAL Colorado Red U18 Girls team dominated the 2012 Presidents Cup play allowing in only 6 goals to their 19 goals achieved throughout the tournament. The team fought hard and emerged undefeated into the championship game against last year's Presidents Cup title holders, the Colorado United Blue. It was a highly physical game, but our REAL girls demonstrated smart teamwork and effective ball skills to win the match 5-1 and take their place for the 2nd time in 3 years as Colorado's Presidents Cup Champions.
