Kris has been involved with REAL Colorado since 2013 when her youngest daughter began playing in the recreational program. Many years ago, she coached U-12 girls with the Cherry Creek Lightening Club and played NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer at Castleton University in Vermont and was an ODP player in Wisconsin and Michigan. A true soccer team mom and USWNT fan, Kris and her family have been known to travel outside of Colorado and the country to watch games.

Kris Staaf has worked in public relations/public affairs for more than 30 years. She’s been with the Albertsons Safeway Company for the past 17 years and directs legislation, public relations community giving, diversity and inclusion and the Safeway Foundation covering a five-state region. She is active in the community through her position at Safeway specifically supporting hunger relief efforts, people with disabilities, veterans, and education. She is the board president of the Colorado Retail Council and formerly served on the board of Special Olympics Colorado.

Kris lives in Highlands Ranch with her husband Ryan Bendixen and two daughters, Lauren (20) and Lizzie (17 – 06 Real Olympico.)
