Real Colorado’s Daylen Hammon Selected to First-Ever U.S. Deaf Soccer Youth Development Camp

Real Colorado Soccer is proud to celebrate Daylen Hammon on his selection to the first-ever U.S. Deaf Soccer Youth Development Camp roster, a historic moment for deaf soccer in the United States and an incredible achievement for one of our own.

The inaugural camp brings together top young deaf athletes from clubs and communities across the country, all of whom have earned their place through dedication, resilience, and performance. Daylen’s selection places him among a special group of players helping shape the future of U.S. Deaf Soccer.

“Daylen is the definition of commitment and work ethic,” said Real Colorado coach Ri Armstrong. “He is incredibly coachable, determined in everything he does, and holds himself to an exceptionally high standard. His drive to improve every day and his pursuit of perfection make him truly deserving of this opportunity.”

The U.S. Men’s and Women’s Deaf National Teams officially became part of the U.S. Soccer Extended National Team program in 2022, continuing a long and successful history of competition on the international stage. Players competing in deaf matches must have a hearing loss of at least 55DB in their better ear and compete without hearing aids during matches, creating unique challenges that demand adaptability, awareness, and balance at the highest level.

The U.S. Deaf National Teams have built an impressive legacy internationally. The Men’s National Team recently earned bronze at the 2024 Pan American Deaf Games and previously won gold in 2019. The Women’s National Team has captured multiple Deaflympics and Deaf World Cup championships, continuing to set the global standard in deaf soccer.

For Daylen, this opportunity reflects years of hard work, growth, and passion for the game. More importantly, it represents the impact sports can have in creating opportunity, confidence, and belonging for athletes of all backgrounds and abilities.

Everyone at Real Colorado is incredibly proud of Daylen and excited to follow his journey as he represents both our club and the broader deaf soccer community on the national stage.

Congratulations, Daylen!
