New Director of Goalkeeping!

Real Colorado Soccer Club is excited to announce the appointment of Joe Nasco as the club’s new Boys Director of Goalkeeping, further strengthening the club’s commitment to elite player development and its long-standing tradition of producing top-level goalkeepers.

Joe joins Real Colorado with years of experience as both a professional player and a dedicated coach. His playing career included time in Major League Soccer with the Colorado Rapids (2014), as well as stints in the NASL with Atlanta Silverbacks (2012–2013) and Fort Lauderdale Strikers (2015), and in the USL Championship with Birmingham Legion (2019).

Following his professional playing career, Joe transitioned into coaching, working with USL League One side Chattanooga Red Wolves (2021) and at the collegiate level with Birmingham-Southern (2016–2020), University of Denver (Spring 2023), and UAB (Fall 2023). Most recently, from February 2024 through December 2025, he worked with Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club, supporting the Central Region and Elite ECNL teams.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Joe to Real Colorado,” said Jared Spires, CEO of Real Colorado Soccer Club. “Colorado has a long and proud tradition of producing goalkeepers who compete at the professional and national team levels, and Joe’s background as both a professional player and a coach aligns perfectly with that legacy. His understanding of the position, commitment to player development, and focus on character and leadership will be instrumental as we continue to build an unrivaled goalkeeper pathway for our boys.”

Joe expressed both gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to lead Real Colorado’s goalkeepers.

“I feel truly blessed for the opportunity to lead Real Colorado’s goalkeepers,” said Nasco. “My mission goes beyond developing technical skills. I strive to help young athletes understand the game deeply, build confidence, and grow into outstanding goalkeepers and exceptional young adults. For me, success is measured not only in saves, but in character, resilience, and leadership.”

In his new role, Joe will oversee the boys goalkeeper pathway, working closely with club leadership and coaches to ensure alignment, consistency, and long-term development across all age groups.

Welcome Joe!!
